Once regarded as the ‘worst pub in London’, The Angel & Crown has been reborn all thanks to the new landlady. A self-styled community pub, welcoming parents and children after school, freelance workers during the day, and drag queen acts at night. The pub welcomes all, as a living room shared by neighbours. Open seven days a week from 8am on most days for morning coffee, and continuing into the night for those partial to a tipple.

The Angel & Crown has had a transformation! New management, new look, new food and drink offerings. The pub has taken on a new lease of life!
“After the pub has been named as the ‘worst pub in London’ in the national press, the previous owner closed it. I decided to take it on and turn its reputation around. The Angel & Crown was my local pub and for the 3 years that I'd lived in the area. I hated even walking past it, so I set out to make it a pub that was welcoming for everyone. Even though the first 2 years of business have been mostly through a pandemic, I feel like I've achieved what I set out to and the pub is now frequented by a lovely array of locals.”
