The Shirker's Rest

Inspired by the rise of micro pubs in the 2010s, the Shirker’s Rest team took over an old solicitor’s office and transformed it into a haven of serenity, where all generations can gather and mingle with ease. The name of the pub hints at the relaxed atmosphere which you’ll experience as soon as you step inside, despite its location near the bustling traffic of the A20 where, still, the cosy and intimate space fosters this sense of community and tranquillity.
Here, locals, students, and staff from Goldsmiths University across the road mix with Londoners who come from all over the city to sample the incredible, ever-rotating selection of keg and cask beers from independent breweries across the UK. Fancy tasting some South London beers? The Shirker’s Rest team has you covered with two permanent lines: Orbit’s Nico House Lager and Anspach & Hobday’s London Black.
