A Phoenix on Goldhawk Road, reborn through the ages

This Hammersmith mainstay, nestled along bustling Goldhawk Road, has resolutely been on the W6 scene since 1871 and witnessed many changes in its time. The current structure was rebuilt in 1929 and underwent numerous rebrandings: the Queen of England, Charlotte’s, Café Med, Pacific Bar and Grill, Brook, Duchess of Cambridge, and finally, something simple but effective: the Duchess. Through it all, she managed to keep her warm pub charm – and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
Conveniently located near Ravenscourt Park, the brick pub offers the perfect retreat after a leisurely stroll through its luscious verdant surroundings. As soon as you step in, you'll feel drawn in by the welcoming atmosphere.
At the Duchess, local residents mix with loquacious young professionals seeking a laid-back spot after work or to treating themselves to the mouth-watering Sunday roasts.

Fun, fame, and match days at the Duchess

While the much loved quiz nights and drag events have built a loyal following of regulars looking for jovial revelry, live music nights showcasing local artists attract newcomers eager to discover fresh talent.
Sports fans also flock to the pub, especially on game matchdays, in eager anticipation of seeing their team strive for maximum points.
